The proposal for Penarth fire station known as selfrostering would mean fewer fire fighters working longer shifts as part of a risk reduction plan by South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. Councillor Bertin said I am extremely concerned about the proposals and I have written to be assured that public safety would not be compromised. I have raised these concerns with the fire authority. Court Labour Councillor Richard Bertin is stressing that the increase in VAT will lead to higher prices for goods and services will have a severe impact on pensioners and the low income families and will also have a severe impact on businesses charities and community groups including those in the Vale of Glamorgan.
