Vale Against the Cuts Latest -
COUNCILLOR Richard Bertin is urging people to get on board and join the 'Vale Against The Cuts' group.
Since the group was successfully launched last month, it is looking for more people to join them in a fight against the ConDem cuts. It is to start campaigning in towns across the Vale of Glamorgan and if you are fed up with the cuts or don't think they are right then why not get involved???
Independent Councillor Richard Bertin who represents the Court Ward said: " Please get involved a show the ConDems that the cuts are wrong!" He added: " You would be very welcome to join them."

Report a Pothole
Three winters have caused major damage to the roads in the Vale of Glamorgan. Keeping up with pothole problems is a never-ending challenge for councils, and I would urge residents to help by reporting the problem here.....

SAY NO CUTS....
GROUPS in the Vale of Glamorgan are uniting to fight the cuts.
'Vale of Glamorgan Against the Cuts (VGAC) are highlighting the impact of the cuts in the area and are providing a strong voice for people who are against the public sector cuts.
Independent Councillor Richard Bertin said: " The Con-Dem cuts will have a huge and damaging impact on our community." He added: " Why should people be paying for the greed of the banking system?"
There is now a Facebook page set up in support of the campaign called 'Vale of Glamorgan Against the Cuts'

Spending Review: There is an Alternative!
So we have had the ConDem's Spending Review which is cruel, unfair and hits the poorest the hardest. I believe there is an alternative to these huge cuts.... Let the Banks Pay!
'We're all in this Together'....yes some more than others.
The Banks caused this problem yet they are getting off basically scott free. The Tories with their bedfellows the Lib Dems are playing an unnecessary gamble with growth and jobs. Their cuts are too harsh and too deep and it seems they are cutting just for the sake of it endangering recovery.
Their gamble with growth and jobs puts the fagile recovery at risk. My alternative is to tax those more who can afford it, tax the banks and scrap Labour's daft plans to replace Trident. Why should we be paying for the failure of banks. They caused it, they should pay for it.
The cuts are unfair, public services and jobs must be saved - We must fight the cuts!
Councillors Disapointment Over St Athan Decision
INDEPENDENT Councillor Richard Bertin has reacted with bitter disapointment over the ConDem's proposal to axe the Defence Academy at St. Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The decision will mean the loss of thousands of jobs, will be a huge blow to the local economy and a huge let down for those in the supply chain.
Despite millions being spent to date on the project, the ConDem's have now decided to pull the plug on the project which has not been helped by Labour's indecisive dithering on whether to go ahead with it when they were in power.
Ex-Labour Councillor Richard Bertin said: " This is a huge blow for the Vale of Glamorgan! This is definetly the wrong decision to take and once again the Tories have let Wales down." He said: So much for Tory MP Alun Cairns saying the project was safe ... he has betrayed the people of the Vale."
Resignation Changes
THE resignation of a Labour Councillor on the Vale of Glamorgan Council has forced Labour to give up 3 committee places.
Councillor Richard Bertin recently resigned from the Labour Group amid bullying allegations made by him and is now an independent councillor. As a result, changes have had to be made on the council to reflect the new political balance.
Councillor Bertin will now sit on Housing Scrutiny, Planning, Community Liaison and Voluntary Sector Joint.
